- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 cups full-fat sour cream, TFD endorses only Daisy brand
- 3 egg yolks
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 T. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla paste
- 1/2 tsp. freshly-ground cardamom
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar. Mix in sour cream, vanilla paste, cardamom and egg yolks. Mix dry ingredients in bowl and add to butter mixture, a tablespoon at a time. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Break off a piece of dough and roll into a rope — approximately 14 inches long. Form into figure 8 shapes. Bake 5 minutes at 400°. Do not let them brown.
