Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup salted cultured butter, softened
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup confectioner sugar
  • 2 organic duck eggs (preferred) or 2 large organic chicken eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. vanilla paste
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter, oil and sugars. Beat in eggs until well blended. Beat in vanilla extract, vanilla paste and almond extract. Combine the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar; gradually add to creamed mixture.
  3. Roll dough into 1-1 ½ inch balls. Place sprinkles (if using) in a small bowl. Dip the top of each cookie ball in the sprinkles and place cookie on a greased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake 10-12 minutes or until cooked through. Don’t let them turn brown! Let cool about five minutes and place in an airtight container. These cookies typically go hard the next day, so either eat them the same day or try adding a piece of bread in with them for extra moisture to avoid this problem.
