Yes, the Spirit has moved within Me and a full-on exposition of superlative recipe fervor has once again gripped My soul! As such, the next *6* recipes shall (by My Divine Fiat) showcase a range of Asian dumpling recipes, ranging from the Empyrean-grazing Nepalese Himalayas to the steaming jungles of Laos and everywhere in between. THESE are recipes you will not want to miss, My beloved Nation!
Typically, most people associate Asian dumplings with mainland China, and with exceptionally good reason – legend traces the history of dumplings ALL THE WAY back to a man called Zhang Zhongjing in the Eastern Han Dynasty (in power from 206 B.C. to 220 A.D)! Regardless as to whether this is apocryphal legend or veritable fact, most Westerners inevitably associate dumplings with Northern China – and I intend to instead share some rather unique alternatives to the ubiquitous jiaozi!
Specifically, I intend to showcase rare and complex dumpling recipes from the following countries – as presented in no specific order below:
- Nepal
- Laos
- Thailand
- Korea
- Indonesia
- Southern Chinese (Hakka/Chaoshan)
As I further seek to loosen the weighty chains of depression that constrain me like the ancient Giants in Dante’s Inferno, this exercise in pure force of will to share SIX posts in SIX days shall, in the end, raise me from the depths of Hell through to the Paradise that awaits all good men and true! My spirit shall at last sally forth unleashed to its full, glorious potential and lead the hosts of the gastronomic faithful to VICTORY!
On the seventh day, I shall take a well-deserved…rest. 😉

i heard the angels singing as i read this announcement…dumplings are one of humankind’s more appealing achievements, and i look forward to these recipes. faithfully and valiantly will i follow my supreme leader into uncharted territory of dumplings! ONWARD!
