Citizens – a moment of solemnity.
Today is Yom HaShoah – the day Jews remember the Holocaust. Virtually all of the European members of my family were gassed, shot or worked to death by the Nazis – as were so many men, women and children whose only crime was to be born Jewish.
Today, we remember 6 million Jews murdered as well as the millions of others killed for their political, religious, ethnic or sexual identification.
Today, ESPECIALLY today with fear, loathing and rage directed against so many spewed out from the mouths of leaders and followers alike in a horrifying parallel to 1939, I say:
NEVER FORGET AND NEVER AGAIN.
Citizens, this horrific period in human history must teach us to respect all humanity and to remember that the battle for humanity’s soul and reason remains ongoing…sadly.
I encourage you to consider purchasing this cookbook of recipes from survivors of the Holocaust as a way to honor the memories of the murdered and salute those who survived – all the proceeds go to charity.
Thank you for listening – a pensive Generalissimo
Never forget
We will never forget, this very very sad period in history, never to be repeated God willing
